From 12 to 14 December 2008 a conference was held in Siena to discuss the theme: "Identità italiana tra Europa e società multiculturale". The conference was promoted by Fondazione Intercultura in cooperation with Scuola Superiore Santa Chiara (Siena University).
Fondazione Intercultura invited several scholars and experts to discuss the theme: Laura Balbo, Ulderico Bernardi, Remo Bodei, Omar Calabrese, Roberto Cartocci, Ida Castiglioni, Emanuela Cresti, Antonio Gambino, Francesca Gobbo, Geneviève Makaping, Susanna Mantovani, Massimo Moneglia, Nando Pagnoncelli, Massimo Palumbo, Stefano Palumbo, Chiara Saraceno, Lorenzo Scurati, Suzanne Stewart-Steinberg, Roberto Toscano, Massimo Vedovelli, Gustavo Zagrebelsky.
